U.S. Hair Care Market Expected to Grow As products called cosmeceuticals are introduced to the U.S. hair care market it has started to bounce back. Forecasts predict that the hair care market in the U.S. may grow by as much as 8.5 million as the demand for personal style enhances increases. In addition, the growth of the hair care market is driven by the different groups of consumers who want a diversity of styling products. As a result of this need to drive the growth of the U.S. hair care market, manufacturers are continuously bombarding consumers with new products. However, this strategy appears to be working since the market seen a growth of two percent in 2006 which was much better than an actual decline of -0.6 percent during the 2005 year. One of the largest areas for growth in the hair care industry in products for men, an area that has previously gone unnoticed. A potential for profit is seen in products for men so many manufacturers are changing their focus from women's hair care products. Many new products have been developed for men including products aimed at specific issues with different results. In addition, new focus has been placed on hair care products for various ethnic groups. In 2006 the number of products designed for specific ethnic groups and mixed race groups has helped to boost the market. |
