Hair Oils and Their Uses
As explained before, there is an essential oil available for nearly every hair or scalp problem. These oils are easy to get hold of in shops and often have more than one use;
essential oils can also be added to a bath (only a few drops will do). You need to be safe in buying hair oils as you may not know what type of oil suits your hair. There are:
Coconut Hair Oils
Coconut oils are used in hair creams and balms and the essential oil can be used either warm or cold. Applied to the hair and left on for at least an hour (the hair can be covered with plastic) it moisturises the hair and calms down the scalp. This is especially beneficial after hair dye treatments or being outside in the sun all day.

Olive Hair Oils
This oil can be combined with other nice smelling essential oils. Olive oil is especially beneficial for dry hair suffering from indoor heating and sun. The hair is nourished and will regain its elasticity after a treatment with this oil. Apply the oil to towel dry hair and leave on for at least half an hour.
Jojoba Hair Oils
Jojoba oil can be used with any hair and skin type. Extremely damaged or breaking hair will benefit from the healing qualities of jojoba oil. This truly is one of the best essential oils for hair loss due to breakage. The oil can be applied as described before and a very small amount applied to the skin of the face will help prevent hair dye stains when dye is applied.
Citrus Oils
Oily hair will benefit from regular treatments with either lemon or grapefruit essential oils. These oils condition the hair and clean the scalp. Warm or cold oil can be applied to the hair and has to be left in for at least half an hour after which the hair can be washed with a gentle shampoo and conditioned.
Tea Tree Oil
Tea tree oil is one of the most versatile essential oils when it comes to hair treatments. Leaving the scalp clean and dandruff-free, this oil moisturises the hair and minimizes oil production of the scalp, preventing greasy looking hair. A few drops of tea tree oil (about 10-12 to a cup of olive oil) can be added to olive oil for a mild but effective weekly treatment to deal with dandruff problems.
Emu Oil
Emu oil has successfully been used in the treatment of baldness and many people treated with emu oil-based balms and creams have reported the return of hair-growth. The oil stimulates the scalp and awakens the 'dormant' (inactive) hair follicle. People suffering from a condition called Alopecia Areate (baldness due to 'sleeping' hair follicles) may experience new hair growth when a bald area on the scalp is regularly treated with this oil. The combination of applying the oil to the scalp and taking emu oil capsules appears to be particularly beneficial.
Other oils
Other essential oils for latest hair styles and hair growth are peppermint oil and rosemary oil, both easy to obtain in health food shops. Essential rose oil soothes the sensitive scalp and makes fine hair more manageable.

With essential oils hair care it is hard to go wrong, your hair will benefit from a treatment with any of these oils even if there are no significant hair or scalp issues to cure. The best essential oils for hair loss can be used as often as needed and are easy and relatively cheap to purchase, unlike many chemical hair loss treatment products.
