The Attachment of Hair Extensions
There are several ways by which you can attach hair extensions to get the latest hair styles. Some are listed as follows:
Bonding
When bonding human hair extensions, glue is applied to a latex plug at the end of the extension which is then attached to the natural hair. This form of hair extension is meant for short-term wear and consequently, is fairly inexpensive (on the lower end of the price spectrum, perhaps $150.)

Unfortunately heat and oil are required to remove the extensions and a messy residue forms on the surface of the natural hair. Cleansing away that residue safely can be a lengthy process during which the hair often pulls out or breaks.

Non-Glue
Non-glue methods to apply hair extensions carry considerable risk of the extensions falling out or of breaking the natural hair due to their weight. The extension is attached to a metal tube which is clamped to the natural hair. The clamps are often difficult to open again and their weight stresses the hair. This is not an acceptable method of extension for fine hair.

Heat-shrink tubing won't harm the natural hair but extensions affixed in this way also have very little staying power. In truth they are not good for more than a day or an evening and tend to fall out if the wearer attempts to shampoo.

Who Can Consider Hair Extensions?

Any hair type can take extensions if the appliances are of a good quality and have been applied skillfully. In the hands of a professional, extensions will blend into the natural hair and move with it so as to become invisible to the naked eye. There are several things to consider in weighing the decision to investigate extensions, however. There are also the braided hair extensions.

In addition to the initial cost of the application, you may well have to use professional maintenance products to not only keep the extensions looking good but to protect your natural hair. There will also be follow-up visits to the salon for tightening of the extensions or re-application and relocation after your natural hair has grown.

With poor application, your own hair is in danger of breaking off or thinning from the weight of the extensions. If the extensions fall out, hopefully your own hair won't go with them. Also beware of allergic reactions to glues and to other chemicals used in the application and maintenance of the extensions.

Choose your extensionist carefully. A professional skilled in more than one application method would be best. Ask if they have a portfolio of photos or a list of reference and discuss the extent of their experience. Don't just go in cold for the application procedure. Arrange for a consultation first.

The extensionist should examine your hair for strength and your scalp for any irritation. They should also have a sense of what activities you enjoy so that they can gauge which application method best suits your lifestyle. For your part, be sure you understand how long the procedure will last, what it will cost, how often the extensions will need to be replaced or repositioned, and your own role in the maintenance plan.
Summary
When made of human hair and applied by a superior application like fusion, hair extensions can create amazing results in terms of increasing the fullness and length of hair. Extensions can be affixed to any hair type by one of the suggested methods and there is no reason why human hair extensions cannot be left in place for months with very low maintenance required on the part of the wearer.
