Hair Washing Hair washing refers to a cosmetic act for keeping the hair clean and healthy. Usually the hair is washed by using a shampoo or other products. After the application of shampoo and rinsing it well, conditioner is used for improving the texture of the hair and its manageability. There are also two in one shampoos which have both detergent and conditioning components in them. They are popularly used for the replacement of shampoo and conditioner. At times, surfactant is used to remove the grease from the hair. Then the surfactant is rinsed off by using water. There are also powders called dry shampoos that remove the grease from the hair. In some cultures, hair washing is of cultural significance. They stress hair washing at regular intervals ranging from daily to monthly. In Korean culture, there is a festival called Yudu in which washing the hair is believed to be washing away the bad luck. Even in Islam , there is a Islamic act called Ghusl which dictates how the hair should be washed . more terms explained here |
