Hot Comb A hot comb refers to a metal comb for straightening the hair. I is sometimes referred to as pressing hair. The comb is heated and ran through extremely curly hair for straitening it. The comb is heated in the open flame before using it in the hair. Of late, hot combs are made in the similar method like a flat or curling iron. Heat is generated by plugging in the comb. It is used after becomes warm. The hot comb can be simply heated over a fire or a stove burner. Once it becomes hot, it should be removed and ran through the hair. This kind of comb is used by African- Americans and other people of African origin. Since Africans have extremely curly and wiry hair, they use this kind of comb to comb their hair. During 1980's and 90's use of the hot comb grew in popularity and used for relaxing purposes. It has made a comeback owing to its health benefits.
