Antifoaming Agents Antifoaming agents are chemical substances that are added to hair care products, such as mousse, that keep it from foaming during the manufacturing process. When the produce is used, the antifoaming agent is cancelled, and the mousse produces a light foam. Antifoaming agents do not help or harm your hair. They are included n mousse simply to make the mousse a liquid when it is being manufactured and shipped. It is because of antifoaming agents that you must release the mousse from the highly pressured container before it becomes light and fluffy for your use on your hair. If a mousse is not made correctly, it will not foam when released from its container. Mousse that does not foam is considered defective, and should be returned to the manufacturer. It may have too much antifoaming agent, or the container may not have been made correctly to produce the foam when the product is released from pressure. more terms explained here |
